I am super excited to share with you the knowledge I have

gathered over the past year about herbs and spices, and their

medicinal effects on the body!  Incorporate these into your meals

whenever and wherever you can, and watch with amazement how

your body thanks you.

This spice has been proven to have anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects on the body.  It can improve cardiovascular health, aid in slowing the progression of Alzheimer’s, help fight cancer-causing free radicals, and reduce swelling that can cause joint pain.  Add this spice to cauliflower, and it has great benefits to the colon.  This yellow powder has become an important part of my everyday cooking.  Keep on the lookout for new recipes that include this beauty!


In Ayurveda cardamom is used to cancel out the negative effects of caffeine.  Just toss a few dashes in with your ground coffee prior to adding water.  Cardamom is an antioxidant and contains potassium, iron and manganese (a scavenger of free radicals).  Additionally, cardamom has nestled in every pod a dose of riboflavin, niacin and Vitamin C.


Nutmeg aids in kidney and liver detoxification.  Looking for relief from gas, and bloating caused by diarrhea?  Add nutmeg to one or more of your meals daily.  It also assists with more concentration and focus at work by stimulating the brain.  When mixed with warm milk in the evening, it can combat insomnia.
